On the 19th February 2020 Manfred Nowak was invited to the Sub-regional launch in Asia to present the Global Study. The focus of this event was to discuss how to effectively implement the recommendations of the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty from a regional perspective in East Asian countries. This session also provided the opportunity to identify the roles of the different actors and ways of cooperation for the promotion and protection of children´s rights. Key stakeholders such as representatives of States, UN Agencies, NGOs and academia were invited to participate and share their experiences, challenges as well as best practices within the region.
