In April 10th, the Kathmandu School of Law, in collaboration with the National Child Rights Council of the Government of Nepal and the National Child Protection Alliance, organized the Nepal National Consultation as a follow-up to the South Asia Regional Launch of the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty and the Policy Research on Children Deprived of Liberty in the Administration of Justice in South Asia. During the consultation participating experts discussed the country-specific means of implementing the recommendations provided in the study in Nepal within four areas where children are deprived of liberty: administration of justice, in institutions, in relation to migration, and in Humanitarian Crisis (Emergency Situations). The consultation concluded with paper presentations on the four areas, a reflection on the Study recommendations, and additional recommendations from the panelists and participants of this national consultation.
